UNU Baked Camembert: The 20-Minute Showstopper

UNU Baked Camembert: The 20-Minute Showstopper

Few things impress a table faster than a whole wheel of molten camembert. Score the top, dust it with UNU, bake until it's a gooey pool, and serve with crusty bread for dipping. It takes 20 minutes and looks like you tried much harder. Bonus points for using a Quebec-made camembert.

Why It Works

Baking a soft cheese in its rind turns it into a warm, scoopable fondue. UNU's garlic, paprika and herbs season the surface as it melts, adding depth without overpowering the cheese. It's the ultimate low-effort, high-reward appetizer.

Approx. macros per serving: 280 cal · 14g protein · 8g carbs · 22g fat

Ingredients

  • 1 whole camembert (250g), in its wooden box or a small dish
  • 1-2 tsp UNU all-purpose seasoning
  • 1 tsp olive oil or honey
  • Sprig of rosemary (optional)
  • Crusty baguette, crackers, grapes to serve

Instructions

  1. Prep. Preheat oven to 350F / 180C. Unwrap the camembert and place it in an oven-safe dish or its wooden box (lid off).
  2. Score. Cut a shallow criss-cross into the top rind.
  3. Season. Drizzle with olive oil or honey, then sprinkle UNU over the top. Tuck in a sprig of rosemary.
  4. Bake 12-15 minutes until the centre is completely molten.
  5. Serve immediately with bread and crackers for dipping.

Tips

  • Buy Canadian. A Quebec camembert or brie works beautifully here.
  • Don't overbake, or the rind splits and it leaks.
  • A drizzle of honey plus UNU is the sweet-savoury combo that wins.
